At 8am on a foggy morning you could be excused for mistaking the outside of the congress centre in Milan for a part-built industrial complex, or maybe a missile silo.  But the inside was home to this year's annual gathering of Italian equine vets,  with Hallmarq participating in the trade exhibition area.

The equine veterinary profession in Italy is being squeezed by the economic situation in the country, and under the circumstances the organisers of SIVE must be congratulated on arranging for a top-grade speaker list, headed by Sue Dyson (AHT, Newmarket, UK) and Larry Bramlage (Rood and Riddle, Lexington, KY).  As is usual these days images collected using Hallmarq's standing MRI made a regular appearance in the presentations.

Matteo Toniato and Ugo Carruzzo of Clinica San Biagio supported Hallmarq on our trade booth in presenting the benefits of referring lameness cases for MRI diagnosis.  Attendees were divided between established practitioners troubled by the decline of horse racing in the country, and enthusiastic students and recent graduates looking to build a career either in Italy or overseas.  We wish them all well.
