Fanis (Theofanis) graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece in 2015. After fulfilling his one-year national military service and completing a 1-year internship in small animal medicine at his alma mater, he moved to the UK. He then spent 2.5 years as a neurology intern at Dick White Referrals (2017/2018), Small Animal Hospital of The University of Glasgow (2019/2020) and Hospital for Small Animals at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies of University of Edinburgh (2021). In summer 2021, he started his ECVN Residency in Veterinary Neurology & Neurosurgery at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals at the Royal Veterinary College in London which he completed in July 2024. Fanis also obtained his PhD diploma in ‘Tremors in dogs and cats’ at the University of Ghent in 2024. In September 2024, he started as Clinician in Veterinary Neurology & Neurosurgery at the Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists, and in February 2025 obtained his ECVN Diploma in Veterinary Neurology. Fanis is interested in all research aspects of veterinary neurology & neurosurgery, with special interest in movement disorders and tremors, vestibular disease, neuro-ophthalmology, and neurosemiology.
