Dr. Torres is an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Georgia (UGA), College of Veterinary Medicine. Before returning to UGA, he served as an Assistant and then Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and the Director of the Motion Analysis Laboratory at the University of Missouri (MU), College of Veterinary Medicine. While at MU, Dr. Torres built and developed an advanced motion and gait analysis laboratory, training undergraduate, professional, and graduate students in veterinary gait analysis. He grew up in Clemson, South Carolina, and did his undergraduate training (B.S.) at Clemson University. After receiving his DVM from the UGA, Bryan stayed at UGA for an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. A move to Atlanta saw Dr. Torres working as a small animal practitioner before returning to UGA to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship in gait analysis and osteoarthritis, a residency in small animal surgery, and a PhD in physiology. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (DACVS) and a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (DACVSMR). In addition, Dr. Torres has research interests in gait analysis, musculoskeletal and joint biomechanics, sports medicine and rehabilitation, and osteoarthritis and pain management.
