Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging Limited (“Hallmarq”)
Modern slavery is an abuse of basic human rights and a crime. It includes slavery, forced labour and selling people to exploit them for personal or financial gain. Hallmarq has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We will always:
- Act ethically and with integrity in all aspects of our business
- Take steps to make sure that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in the businesses we work with
- Use words in contracts that ban others using forced labour or slavery
This policy applies to all individuals and businesses that work with us.
For employees, this policy is not part of your employment contract and we can update it any time.
Responsibility for this Policy
It is the Board’s job to make sure this policy and how we behave complies with our legal and ethical responsibilities, and that everyone that works under our control follows this policy.
Mick Crosthwaite (CEO) has day-to-day responsibility for putting this policy into practice, making sure it works and answering questions about it.
We have thought about the areas of our business where there might be risks of modern slavery and put in place steps to reduce the risks as far as we can. We provide training for our people where they can help with those steps.
It is the job of every manager to make sure the people that report to them understand and follow this policy and are given enough regular training on it.
We would love to hear from you with any comments on this policy and any suggestions on how it could be improved. Send your comments to Mick Crosthwaite (CEO).
What You Must Do
Stopping Modern Slavery is everyone’s job. You must read, understand and follow this policy.
You must tell Mick Crosthwaite (CEO) or report to our independent external hotline Safecall as soon as possible if you think that something has happened or might happen that involves Modern Slavery.
If you are not sure, raise it anyway — we want you to tell us about honest and genuine concerns. You will not be criticised or punished if the concern was not found to be a problem. We would rather be safe than sorry.
